error in Project 2003 Pro - upgrade database

I have one Business Unit running Project Server 2002 with a couple of
projects as a proof of concept. I recently upgraded another employee to
Project 2003 Professional and he is having some trouble doing updates and
edits on server based projects. He receives an error when doing updated
that the servers database needs to be upgraded to 2003. Can anyone provide
me with some guidance on if I should either upgrade the database or
downgrade the one user of 2003 to 2002. Thanks in advance.

Microsoft documentation that I have read says P2003Pro can connect to
P2002Enterprise server or P2003Enterprise server.

I'm guessing, but I expect that your new employee is not accessing the
project on the server correctly during the open or during the close/publish
operations. Perhaps you might want to review those operations.
