error in starting word2000 in vista

I am having problems with microsoft office 2000 that is on my laptop
(vista) that has been working fine more months. Now when I try to open
it, I get an error message "feature ID not registered". This happens for
word powerpoint and excel. I tried to reload office, but it will not let me.
please advise
