Error installing Office 2003

I have an administrative install of Office 2003 up on a share on a Windows
2003 server. Users must be logged into the domain to access the share. A
couple of users have gotten the error "The settings file setuppro
files/setup/setuppro.ini is missing or invalid. Please ensure this file
exists and is accessible."

I can't find anything on the MS site about this.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,

How are they installing Office?
Double clicking the setup.exe, the msi file, a batch file you created ?

First make sure you are using a mapped drive to that share,
next make sure the office folder, where the msi resides, is at least 2
levels deep.

For example:

I placed my admin point on D:\apps\Office\Office2003
Created a share on the apps folder and then mapped a drive letter to the
apps share. Thus the office msi file, which resides in the Office2003 folder
is 2 level deeper then the mapped drive letter.

As long as the users are allowed to read the apps share, you're ready to
install.

Also, if you did use a mapped drive and also changed the setup.ini file for
combining more installs, make sure the ini entries that stated the mst
location
use the same drive letter and relative path.

Take care,
