Error Log

Hello,

I have a customer who reports that every so often he gets dialog that says
that an error is being logged to the Access error log. This probably isn't
the exact message that he gets.

Is there an Access error log, and if so, where is it located on the hard
drive? Or is it possible that this dialog is referring to an entry that has
been added to the Windows 2000 Application Error Log?

That I know of Access has no exposable error log (I've had to write my own
for application errors). Maybe the Win log (application log) but I would
suspect it may be an application specific thing.

Lance,

Thanks for taking a stab at it. I visited with the customer yesterday and
they were able to reproduce the error, and indeed it did report that it was
logging an error, but it didn't say where. I checked the Windows 2000
Application Error Log and it wasn't there, or anywhere else that I could
find.

However, I was able to fix the problem within a few minutes. They had one
corrupted record (memo field), so we simply deleted the record and
re-created it. And they had a corrupted report, so we deleted that and
imported a replacement from an old backup. So the customer was good to go
and very happy.
