Entourage is telling me that authorisation failed with message 5.7.0 and error logging in 17900. This has happened suddenly: I have never before had problems with email. The error message suggests there may be a problem with my authentication with Yahoo, but I can use email from Yahoo: not from Entourage. What can I do?

Run Keychain Access found in /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.

Go to the Keychain Access Menu and drag down to Keychain First Aid.
Enter your login password, click 'Verify' and 'Start'.

You will probably get some items colored red. Click 'Repair' and 'Start'. If
some items are still red, 'Repair' again.

Test to see if the problem is fixed. If not...

1. Go to the system keychain and delete the entry for that account.

2. Go to Entourage, select 'accounts' from the Tools menu, choose the
account that was giving you trouble and delete.

3. Create a new account.

How do I go to the system keychain and delete the entry for that account? I have verified and repaired the keychain as suggested.
At the moment when I type a password into the account set-up box it disappears when the box is closed and therefore cannot connect to receive email. This happens with all the accounts I have.

Is the keychain locked?

That should have been login keychain not the system keychain. Sorry.
