Error logging into Project Server via the 'Configure Microsoft Office Project Server' menu

I just installed Project Server and sp2 from my msdn dvd. I also installed
sql server sp4. I tried to log into Project Server via the 'Configure
Microsoft Office Project Server' menu from the start menu and I get the
following error in the browser:

Microsoft JScript runtime error '800a138f'

'null' is null or not an object

/ProjectServer/Shell/Shell.asp, line 529

Any idea what's up with this?

The service pack has not been run against the database.

Did you follow the instructions on the download page for the service pack.
Specifically did you copy osql.exe into the folder where the database update
scripts are and then run the update command passing in the name of the server
and database

If you have done this and have seen the script run for a few minutes
updating the database then you should go to the database server and confirm
that there is not two Project Server databases on there. If there is another
one, it will have some numbers off the end of its name. That will be likely
the database your system is using. You can confirm which database Project
Server is using by running CONNINFO.exe from C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office Project Server 2003\BIN\1033 on the Project Server box. You may have
been updating an old database.

Thanks for all the info.

Yes I did run the SP correctly which included entering the name of the SQL
Server instance, login and password, etc., and if I go into EM and look at
the properties for that instance of SQL server it says:
Product Version: 8.00.2039 (SP4)

So it looks like the SP is in correctly. There is only one database
ProjectServer. I made sure to delete an old versions of ProjectServer along
with related user accounts.

Any other ideas on how to trouble shoot this?

Thanks again!
