Error message 0x800CCCOF

Everytime I hit the "send/receive" button, I receive emails but none are sent
due to this error message "0x800CCOF". I called my ISP (comcast) and they
said it's a problem with software. I've dissabled virus scanning of emails
and still get the message.

I'm running Vista home basic and haven't had this problem in the past; even
with the current virus settings. I've downloaded the latest updates from
microsoft to no avail. I still get this error message.

I've seen what appears to be 3rd party software fixes and wonder if I should
go in that direction.

Any advice would be appreciated.
