error message 0x800CCCOF

I'm using MSOutlook 2003; everytime I hit the "send/receive" button, I
receive emails but none are sent due to this error message "0x800CCOF". I
called my ISP (comcast) and they said it's a problem with software. I've
dissabled virus scanning of emails and still get the message.

I'm running Vista home basic and haven't had this problem in the past; even
with the current virus settings. I've downloaded the latest updates from
microsoft to no avail. I still get this error message.

I've seen what appears to be 3rd party software fixes and wonder if I should
go in that direction.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Disabling email scanning will not correct this issue all the time. You need to uninstall your AV completely and the re-install it without the email scanning option. Norton ,MacAfee is notorious for this
