Error message -192

I am using Microsoft Entourage on a dual-core iMac that I recently
purchased. I set up two separate user accounts on the computer. I
installed the program from an original purchased CD. The Entourage
program works just fine on when I am logged in. However, when my wife
logs in to her account, it usually starts up fine, but then she is
unable to close message boxes, etc. Error message -192 pops up. If I
force quit the program and start it up again, it worked... but I don't
want to have to do this all the time. Any suggestions? Thanks in
advance.

You don't mention what version of Entourage you are using, but error -102
was fixed in the update Office 10.1.2

The -192 error is a problem with a file's resource fork, and so could apply
in more than one scenario. Where scripts are involved this is usually
because they're trying to run one of Jaguar's data fork scripts in a pre-SR1
Entourage.

Thanks for your answer. In answer to your question, I have version
10.1.4. So what should I do?

This was one of those error messages that was specific to a item that was
fixed in an update. I'm not sure why you are getting the error with the
update applied.

Be sure to apply all updates to Office. Look under Help in the Menu bar and
select "Check for Update". I believe this option was offered in Entourage X.
If not, you will find updates on Mactopia:

Check your MLM, custom rules and schedules for scripts.

Try holding down the shift key during launch to prevent startup schedules
from firing.

Check for a bad message: A malformed spam message was sent to many people
causing the Junk Mail Filter in Entourage X to fail. This is fixed in
Entourage X after applying the Oct. 2004 Security update.

Test database for corruption by creating a new Identity. Does the problem
happen with a clean blank Identity?

Let us know if any of this helps.
