Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: imap

I continue to get entourage error: Server shutting down which is 2171. I have researched the issue and found that it says that if I uncheck the box in tools>accounts>options that says: "send commands to server simultaneously" this should make the problem go away. I did that it made no difference at all. This just started yesterday I have not changed any settings I have been on the phone with my isp and hosting company they have no idea what to do and say that it points to my email client???? Not sure what to do....Please help!

Not too much information is available about this. From what I've read
online, this could also be with incorrect server settings.

Are you able to send and receive messages without errors? What are you
doing at the time when this error message appears?

I am able to hit the send and receive button and get no error other than that, if it automatically gets send/receives then I get the error. Also I get it when I manually hit the button also, I have also been going along with no problems for months and then with out changing settings or anything bam.

Could your service provider possibly have changed servers or settings?
Can you post a link to their settings posted online?

Try creating a new connection to your IMAP account under Tools -->
Accounts. Does that second account have the same issue? If not then you
can delete the old one and continue using the new one.

Hope this helps!
