error message 80042108 Help

I have been getting the error listed since last nights update, prior to that
outlook worked ok. the full message is "task 'mail.bigpond.com-receiving'
reported error 0x80042108, outlook is unable to connect to your incoming pop3
email server. I have checked the account set up and also extended the time
for time out but still keep getting this message. Anyone out there that can
help me fix this. We use our email for business and can't afford to be
offline. I also use incredimail for personal emails and have had no trouble
today with this? My ISP suggests it is an outlook problem

I have the same issue since the update and I also use PC cillin. I removed
the update, but the problem persists.

I'm not sure what the number is but it was downloaded the night before last.
Also I have noticed that it is only the receive operation that is failing, I
am able to send mail but not receive

If that's the case, then I don't think the updates are the problem. Were I
in your shoes, I'd start with a new mail profile and re-add my account(s)
from scratch.

I find the sent mail goes tot he outbox and stays there. And Outlook keeps
trying to resend, resulting in more of the same error messages.
