Error message, "Filesharing lock count exceeded"

I get this error message when creating a report. "Filesharing lock
count exceeded. Increase Max Locks Per File registry entry". The
error is on a users machine. The database is split. The front-end
and backend is on a Z:\swimclub drive. I guess because of safe
keeping. The shortcut icon on the users computer works to access the
server computer. The user can log in. On her computer she gets this
error message when she tries to run the report from the toggle switch
however if I access the frontend directly from the server computer
with the z:drive and run the same report I don't get this errror.
