error message in microsoft programs

Today when I tried to open powerpoint an error message popped up saying:

The application powerpoint could not be launched because of
a shared library error:

I get this same message whenever I attempt to open word, and excel. Can anyone help me with this? Also, I don't know if this will matter but I'm still using the trial version
