Hello everyone.
I performed all the updates for my Microsoft Office XP installation now I
occasionally get the following dialog box
A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in outlook.
Do you want to allow this?
If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No".
I get this message when I try to create a new e-mail (because I use Word as
my e-mail editor) and when I do a hotsync for my palm pilot (visor
actually). It's really inconvenient because I can't disable it (what I've
read on the web so far including from Microsoft is that I can't get rid of
it unless I'm using exchange server) and I can't. At least I should get the
option to choose to allow a particular program to not generate the message.
e.g. do you want to be notified when this program tries to access your
e-mail? Yes/No.
Has anyone found a workaround or some official way to stop this or at least
alleviate it without having to perform a complete re-install of Office? I
don't want to download and use the program that just keeps saying yes for
you, it just seems clunky.
Thanks
Joe
