error message - not enough memory or disk space

when i try to open word 2000, my computer freezes. when i
hit ctrl/alt/delete, a white display box pops up and says
i do not have enough memory or disk space to run word. i
know that i do have enough space and memory though and i
need word since im a college student. can anyone help???
