error message on opening files

We have recently switched from project 2000 to 2002 and
get the following error message when we open the old
files. "The operation can not be completed because the
source file contains invlaid project data or the total
number of rows would exceed the limit of 1,048,000 rows in
a project". After we get this error the resources are all
blanked out. The file is only about 500 tasks long. Has
anybody seen this or know how to fix it? Thanks in
advance for the help.

Hi Thomas,

Sometimes project files can get corrupted. The work-around would be to
create a new project in 2002 and using the "Insert->Project" menu items.
Insert the 2000 project and you will probably not have any further problems.

For further debugging and other things to try, check out the following KB
