Hi Folks
I get the following message when trying to open a web in
FP on my machine that is sitting on my web server.

Server Error: Error 2 opening registry
key "Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server
Extentions\Ports\Port 80"

What does this mean? How do I fix it?

TIA, Andrew

Are you running Yahoo IM.?
If so shut it down as it uses port 80
for it's P2P files sharing feature, which will
block it from FrontPage.

I just solved this one myself. On my server, the host header in IIS
was defined as: foobar.com, but I was trying to open a web in VI6
called www.foobar.com.

In both VI6 and FP2K, this only led to the above error that you've
seen. I tried all the permissions editting in the registry and the
removal and reinstallation of FPE2K2, but what fixed it was this: I
changed the host header in IIS to www.foobar.com and voila, I can now
open the web in VI6 using the address www.foobar.com. If I try to
open a new project using the address foobar.com, I can still get the
above error.

Who knows if that's what's up with your site, but it worked for me.
