Error Message Please help

Tried to open my Access DB this morning and recieved this
error message " Microsoft Access could not find
file 'system.mdw'. File needed for start up." I inserted
the MS Office Profession Software disk to try and repair
the problem but it did not work. Any suggestions on how to
fix?
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
