error message: .pst is not a personal folders file

I copied my pst file from my old computer, which was using Outlook 2003 to my
new computer that is also using Outlook 2003, to my Outlook file on my new
computer. I am receiving an error message "....pst is not a personal folders
file". I ran the repair tool against the file and it does not recognize the
file. I am lost, because I made multi-copies of the file before getting rid
of my old computer and I am getting the same message for each, including the
Archive file and the Backup file. They can't all be corrupt! Can somebody
help me?!?!

Did you copy them onto a CD then forget to remove the read only attribute?

Thank you for the response. I copied them to a CD and then uploaded to the
new computer. I checked to make sure the read only box was not checked.

How did you create them? If you created them by exporting instead of
copying, you may have corrupted the files beyond repair.
