How can I check if I have the service pack installed? And what effect would
it have on our issue?
:
That particular error code has to do with the HotFix we mentioned before.
You
must have the service pack installed.

Did you try all the other suggestions? Is your virus software current?

The page sorter shows up always but an exsisting .pub file containing
reports
that we've created will not open at all.
:
I've about run out of suggestions. Is your profile okay? Can you
right-click
the
Publisher icon and run as Administrator? Do the pages show up if you
run
as
Administrator?

Have you tried *Office Diagnostics* in the help menu?

No I have the page sorter tabs
:
Irene, Some versions of Publisher 2007 were missing the status
bar
that
had
the
sorter tabs, does this seem to be your issue?
There is a registry fix for this here:

It is the sixth FAQ.

It has a default printer and the problem pesists.
:
You need a default printer. Even if you don't have hooked up
to a
physical
printer, install the drivers for one and see if that fixes
your
problem.

No It is the full 2007 version. There is not a defaulft
printer
:
Is this a trial version of Publisher? Are you certain you
have
not
installed the
service pack? Look at Help, About Microsoft Publisher. The
SP2
MSO
will
be
listed if it is installed.
It seems strange a multiple page publication wouldn't open.
Do
you
have
a
default printer? What happens if you select a different
default
printer
in the
Printer Folder?
