Error message"The measurment must be between 1pt and 31 pt"

I have a table created in MS Word 2000. The first and
fifth raw are formatted with shading and I try to format
the 10th raw the same way (shading and bold). When I
highlight the raw and go to format/shading I get an error
message "The measurement must be between 1pt and 31 pt".
And I can't add shading to this line. I tried to do it in
all possible way I know - I still get the same error
message. I tried on machine with XP on it - the same
result.

This is the error message you would get if you tried to enter an illegal
measurement into the "From text" boxes in the Border and Shading Options
dialog (which presumably you're not using). Have you tried applying shading
using the Tables and Borders toolbar? (Use the paint can icon with the
"Shading Color" ScreenTip.) Perhaps if you did that first, you would then be
able to go to Format | Borders and Shading and perform any needed fine
tuning.
