Error message trying to install Office Home and Student 2007

Anyone have any experience with the following error message? '0' is not a
valid character for product setup. This happens every time I try to open any
of the Office programs after just installing. It's a brand new Compaq
Presario with Vista. Any conflict issues there? When I try to validate,
that message pops up. I've seen this question asked before, but no one gave
the answer. They just said to go to microsoft support, but I just go around
in circles when I go there. Can anyone give a direct and concise answer to
this problem? Thanks, Tommy
