Hello -

I recently installed MS Office 2003 including MS Word 2003 (11.6568) on my
IBM ThinkPad T43. I was running Office 97 before. Operatng system is XP Pro.
All updates have been performed.

When I exit out of Word, I get the following error message with the header
message "Microsoft Visual Basic" below the header is the message: method
'disconnect' of object 'iconnect failed'

I checked in the MS Knowledgebase and on the internet without success. Any
help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have a macro in a global template attempting to run
when you exit Word. Global templates are utilized by third party
manufacturer's to integrate their software with Word and/or to add
additional functionality. So what you are encountering isn't a problem
with your Word installation. It's a matter of finding the template
causing the error and removing it so it no longer attempts to run.
From the error description I suspect it no longer functions correctly
in Word 2003.

Here's an article that should help you find the cause:

Bingo!.....

You hit the nail on the head. I found the offending software and removed it.
No further problems.

Thanks very much.........
