Error Message Upon Opening Worksheet

Everytime I open a worksheet, I get an error box saying
that a file with this name is already open and MS Excel
can only open one file at a time. I can always clear the
error box without any problem but is this a nuisance I
have to live with? And why is it happening?

Specifically, the error message reads, "A document with
the name ___.xls is already open. You cannot open two
documents with the same name even if the documents are in
different folders. To open the second document, either
close the document that's currently open or rename one of
the documents."
