Error message when I open Contacts folder

I get the following error when I either switch to the Contacts folder
within outlook and sometimes when I try to open a Contact.:

"The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form
instead. The form required to view this message cannot be displayed.
Contact your administrator."

There are several strange things about this error.
1.) I am not trying to view a message.
2.) When I click [OK] the contact form opens anyway.
3.) I am not using custom forms.

=== Background

This is Outlook 2003. I upgraded from outlook 2000. It started
happening several weeks after using it. It happens every time I use
it.

Just before the problem started occuring I noticed an extra PST file
that didn't contain my calendar, email, journal or anything else. I
removed or deleted it. I still have full functionality of my Contacts,
Email, Notes, Tasks...

I don't know what that was, where it came form, but maybe it had
something to do with it. If so how do I fix things?

=== How I tried to solve this problem myself...

A Google search did not uncover anything that seemed to refer to the
problem.

I looked for an answer from the Microsoft Knowledge Base. [We all know
how bad the Microsoft search is - it rearely recognizes any error
messates my MS applications throw.] None of these 'Q' articles had
anything to do with my problem:

1.) 223481
- attempt to print a meeting request message
- attempt to open an encrypted message
- attempt to synchronize a PalmPilot

2.) 251415
- attempt to use the Outlook object model to reference an item that
requires a custom form

Microsoft has a download that is supposed to give additional
information on error messaages called "Customizable Alerts Info
Button". I installed it - it didn't tell me anything more.

Can anyone advise me?
