I am using Access 2002 SP-2 (based on what I see
in "About MS Access" from the "Help" menu. I have Office
XP Professional installed. It came preinstalled by Dell
on a Dell Dimension 4550 that was purchased in June 2003.
I am running Windows XP.
When I try to open certain linked tables in my database,
or try to remove the links to those tables, I get an
error message that states: "Microsoft Access has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." I am prompted to "send an error
report", which I have been able to do only once
successfully. The time I was able to send the report, I
was told I needed to install the SP-2 update to my Office
installation. I downloaded the SP-2 update and installed
it, but I am still getting the same error message. I also
have a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop that I just purchased
with Office XP Pro, running Access 2003, based on what I
see in "About MS Access". I do not have this problem with
the same database on my laptop.
I have not yet tried to reinstall Access at this point.
Any assistance you can provide on the best way to proceed
would be helpful.
