I have recently encountered a problem with my Outlook program. I started out
with Office 2000 Pro. It has always worked properly until a few weeks ago
and the only thing I had changed at that time was my Symantic Virus
protection. When I go to open outlook I receive an error message
stating-"Unable to open default email folders. Errors have been detected in
the file C:\Documents and Settings\IBM USER\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst. Quit outlook and all mail enabled
applications, and then use the inbo repair tool to diagnose and repair errors
in this file. For more information about the inbox repair tool, see Help."
I used the inbox repair tool and had no luck finding the issue, I simply get
a message stating that the file does not exist and I cannot find another file
that is corrupted. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, still no
luck. I then upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003 Pro and I am still
getting the same error message. I have deleted all of my old accounts and
put them in with the new program and I am still getting the error message.
All other programs in the office suite work fine. I have installed all
updates on the virus software, so I doubt it could be that.
Any help would be GREAT thanks.
