error message when selecting from combobox

I get the following error when I try to seelct an entry from a combobox on a
subform:

A problem occured while Microsoft Access was communicationg with the OLE
server or ActiveX control.

Colse the OLE sercer and restart it outside of Mircosoft Access. Then try
the original operation again in Mircrosoft Access.

What happened to cause this error?
