Error message when starting Windows

Can you help me with this problem? Almost everytime I
turn my PC on, Which I am running windows 98. A pop up
screen will appear and say " C:\IEDLL.EXE file appears to
be corrupt. Re install the file and then try again." Or
you PC has preformed an illegal operations and will shut
down.?? I have no idea what that means. I have done all
the sytem maintain possible on my PC and I am not sure
how to fix this problem. Can you help.
