error message, when trying to save a name to a contact

Hi

I have a outlook error message, when trying to save a name to a contact, by
right clicking a name in the to field, then select add to outlook contacts,
then save and close, i get "there is not enough memory available to perform
the operation"

This is occuring on outlook 2000, outlook 2000. We are using exchange 2003
and there are no error messages on either the machine or the exchange server

anyone help?
