Error message when using Word

I keep getting an error message, either when I'm working in Word or when I'm
trying to send an email with Outlook (which uses Word as the email editor). I
have Word 2003 (Windows XP) installed and the error message is winword.exe
00074c17 - however, this doesn't appear on any of the search engines that
I've tried. Does anyone know what it means or how I can fix it?

Deleting all the temporary files (including normal.dot) seems to have worked,
so thanks for the advice!
