error message with equation editor

Hi,
I'm trying to use the Equation Editor in Word v. X on Mac OS X 10.3. But every time I get the following message, if I want to edit an existing equation or if I want to create a new one:
The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed.
I'm pretty sure that the Equator file is there, I've already reinstalled the Equator by Custom Installation option.
I would be very grateful for quick help!!!!!!

Hi C,

If you reinstall Equation Editor then you need to re-install all the
updates.

One of the things that gets replaced in the update process is Equation
Editor.
