Error Message: Word Failed to start correctly last time

I receive an error message that says that Word failed to start correctly last
time. The program wants me to start up in Safe Mode. Microsoft help and
support tells me to do something with McAfee
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/888950).

But I don't have McAfee!!!!
