Error Message

Hello,

Whenever I start Outlook 2003 I receive the following error message:
"Microsoft Office cannot run the add-in. MSO can't install the necessary
files due to Windows Installer error 1606.
Feature ID not registered." This message 1st appeared after I dowloaded a
security update from Microsoft. My question: how can I get rid of this
message? In order to get into Outlook I have to hit Close 8 times and it's
rather annoying. Thanks in advance for any help.

Mary, I saw a similar problem with Word and Excel 2002 (from the
2002 version of Microsoft Office XP). The help functions produced
the Windows Installer Error 1606, "Feature ID not registered."
The solution was to reinstall Microsoft Office from the original CD.
(Note that you'll need to reenter the product key, and reactivate the
software.)
