error message

Hello,
I finished installing an IMAP account, I have Outlook 2000.
I'm getting this error message: "could not fetch new headers in the inbox
for [email protected]. An unknown error has occurred."
Does anyone know how I can get rid of it?

Any help will be appreciated it.

It appears something in your account configuration is incorrect or perhaps
your mail provider doesn't offer IMAP. The only free mail services I know
that offer IMAP are AOL and gmail.

The email provider does offer IMAP as it is a work email done through my
company. Unfortunetely they don't know what to do either.

If this were happening to me, I'd simulate an IMAP session via telnet and see
if I can discover where the problem lies. Here are a couple of examples I
