Error Message

I have XP Pro and FrontPage 2003. I have IIS installed along with the
FrontPage 2000 extensions. When I try to publish a Web site (using my
computer as the Web server for testing), I get an error message.

Server Error: Cannot open file 'frontpg.lck' for writing

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 2000 extenstions. I've deleted
all *.web cache files. I've deleted all *.tmp files. I've gone to the
_vti_pvt folder to delete the frontpg.lck file, but it is not there.

I continue to get this error. I need to clear it up because I am taking a
FrontPage course and publishing my Web site is part of my coursework.

Thanks for any help.
Shar

The file must be deleted on the remote/host server.

I hate to sound dumb, but I'm going to have to. Since I am using my computer
as the Web server, where do I delete frontpg.lck from? I did a search for
that file and it comes a more than once.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok. I deleted all occurences of 'frontpg.lck'. Well it fixed that error
message I was getting. Now I'm getting:

Server Error: Canno open file 'httpd.cnf' for read/write

Any suggestions for this??????

Thanks,
Shar

What are you trying to publish to (localhost?)
- and is it as a root or subweb (does the subweb exist)
