error message

I get the message "Microsoft word for windows has
encountered a problem and must close". Tried repairing,
deleting and reinstalling. nothing works.

Me too. Can you start Word 2000 with the /a switch. That
is "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office" /a or
wherever your Word is installed. This appears to work for
me but disables functions in Word (e.g., acts like first
instance, won't let you change tool bar or settings).
This tells me that something is wrong in Registry or
there's a macro somnwhere that's crashing Word. ARG! I'm
looking for an answer too.
