Error Message

I get the following mesage when opening a file containing links:

"Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data
or close other applications."

I hit ok and it opens the file but will not bring in the info. My IT people
have given me more RAM but I still get the message. The files are not
particularly large. Anyone get this message?
