Error messages in German

I have a weird one: A user here has started getting Access error messages in
German. He regularly imports Excel spreadsheets that come from European
suppliers. We're not sure if it started after he imported one of those, or
it could have been after I installed the BMW ETK (Electronic Parts Catalog)
on his machine. I looked in Control Panel | Regional Settings and it is
still set to English(US) so I'm assuming an Access/Office setting has been
changed somewhere but I've no idea where to look. Any ideas?

Check and see if the version of the file: msjint40.dll is the same on his
computer as yours. It is located in the Windows\System32\ folder. I'm pretty
sure that's the file that controls the language that is used in message
boxes. Also it may have a slightly different name depending upon the
version, msjint is the important part. Sometimes templates from other
languages can cause this to happen. You might want to also ask in the Excel
newsgroup.

Thanks but I don't need it translated. When I perform the same operation on
my machine, the error message is in English: "Record is deleted". My problem
is that I need the error messages on his machine to be in English, too.

They are identical. Are ou sure it's not an Office-wide registry setting
somewhere?
