error messages when publishing from two computers

Hello. I am new to this group, but not new to FrontPage. I recently upgraded
from FrontPage 2000 to FrontPage 2003, and I recently purchased a laptop in
addition to my desktop. I have always published with my desktop only, but
now would like to make changes and publish to my website with both the
desktop and laptop. I have a Flash card that connects to both the laptop and
the desktop on USB ports.

I made the mistake of publishing to my website from both my desktop and
laptop at different times, and I am now getting lots of error messages when
trying to publish from the desktop. Error messages like:

"The server send a response which FrontPage could now parse...make sure
Windows SharePoint Services is installed properly."

Or "An error occurred accessing your Windows SharePoint Services site
files...."

These error messages pop up during publishing from the desktop and the
publishing stops. I can then re-start from the stopped point and publishing
continues for a few minutes (slow dial-up connection) until the next error
message pops up, etc.

This happens either with "publish changed pages only" or "publish all pages,
overwriting any files on existing web." I also tried checking and
un-checking the box under Tools - page options - authoring- SharePoint
services. Either way, same problem.

How can I publish using two computers? Would it be best to publish to the
flash card from either computer first, then use the flash card to publish to
the website?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The error you are getting generally have nothing to do w/ which machine you published from before
- and do not publish between machines

Open your Online site in FP from each machine and publish to each machine
- after any edits from either machine are published to your online site,
- publish from your online site in FP back to the other machine

Hi Stefan:

Ok, I think I understand. Is this the way I should do it?

For example: on my desktop computer I open FP and make any changes on that
computer - then publish to my website - then when on my laptop (or
visa/versa,) I open up my website live in FP and publish to my laptop. Is
that correct?

Thanks for the help.
