I have been able to load web pages and edits but not without a lot of
experimentation and effort. This started after I had to reload my computer
programs after getting a new computer. The following error messages appear
when trying/succeeding to load changes or new pages onto the remote server to
our ISP.
1. When loading to server using the upload icon on the Front page window:
"The server sent a response which FrontPage could not use." (Part of the
list of changes actually were loaded but were interupted by this message)
2. When I use the publish page command in the file menue, or try to use the
individual file FTP load from computer to server, with the arrow between the
boxes I get the following error message: "could not find a web server at
"_____" on port 21." This message comes AFTER the file has been transfered
from my computer to the server. However, the listing still shows the files
in "conflict."
3. My settings are as follows:
A. PAGE OPTIONS; FrontPage & SharePoint Tech. set at "NONE", Browsers set at
"CUSTON", Schema Verson IE 5.0
B. Remote Properties: FTP, and "Use passive FTP
I called the tech at the Internet Provider and we reviewed the settings. He
said that my settings were correct. I have experimented with changing the
settings but no change. The ISP only accepts FTP transfers.
