error messages

I recently switched from Outlook Express to Outlook 2007 and I think I will
eventually be very happy. It took probably 50 hours of work to get everything
converted the way I want, but with the help from some of the people on this
board, most of it has been done in a usable form.

I currently get 2 errors I need help with.

First, deleting my deleted items folder.

If I right click on the deleted items folder and choose to empty deleted
items folder, I get the confirmation screen, I say OK, then I get an error
that the folder is full.

What folder are they talking about?

If I highlight one item in the deleted item folder and click Control A to
highlight all the items and then hit delete…everything deletes fine.
I am using a POP3 account and my PST file is about 1,018,085 KB

Second. If I go to contacts and type something in the search button, I
always get the yellow box that says

Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed.
This happens even after outlook has been on all day.

It tells me 251 items remaining in “Personal Foldersâ€.
502 items remaining across all open mailboxes.

Please note that the numbers are different every day, not always 251 and
502..but I am pretty sure that the higher number is always double the lower
number.

I have run the SCAPPST file. This did not help.

I look forward to your answers.

Is this the only PST you have? Are you using a POP account?

That's not an Outlook issue but a Windows Desktop Search issue. Use the
Indexing Options applet in Control Panel to stop and restart indexing.

You said your PST is about 1GB. Right-click its root and choose Properties,
then Advanced. What's in the "Format" field (exactly)?

Brian,

I am not sure what you are asking me to do.

I used Windows Explorer to get to the file and right clicked, then hit
advanced and I got a box that said ADVANCED ATTRIBUTES. There are 2 boxes,
the only one checked is FILE IS READY FOR ARCHIVING. The other boxes are not
checked.

If you mean to go though OUTLOOK and hit
FILE
DATA FILE MANAGEMENT
Highlight the PST File then there is no advanced option)
If I hit settings, under format it says PERSONAL FOLDERS FILE (97-2002)

Should I be looking someplace else?

Not in Windows, in Outlook.

This is the information I was seeking. You're using an ANSI-format PST from
a version of Outlook prior to Outlook 2003. This type of PST has an
absolute file size limit of 2GB, but problems have been known to arise prior
to that. Were I you, I'd convert that PST to a Unicode PST that can grow to
20GB and beyond and then see if the problem still occurs. See this:
