It sounds like there was a problem during the save of this
file. Some bits of it may be missing, and it may not be
recovereable at all. But some things you can try:
Try copying the file in explorer to a different
location/drive, see if you can then open it.
Open in Excel XP or 2003 - these are better than 2000 at
opening damaged files.
Try opening in open office (www.openoffice.org) and saving
as excel - that has worked for me in the past.
