I have project manager located in an office connected to our WAN. This
user gets the following error when trying to publish a project to Project
Server.
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionRead (recv()).
The WAN has very good performance as this location is one of two main data
centers.
The users were successful testing the URL (connection to PS) when setting up
their accounts in Project Pro.
We have been researching this for two months and tried many suggestions. We
have done the following.
We insured that the user with the problem and those we asked to help us test
and repeat the problem have Project Professional 2003 SP2.
We found another user at the same location and tested with her. She gets
the same error.
We found a user at another location, across the US from us, who was on a
much slower WAN connection and had her test publishing a project. Although
it was really slow, she did not receive any errors.
We set up a user here and they traveled to the remote office, connected to
the WAN and completed our tests successfully.
We have tried having the problem users create new projects, build a team,
add resources to tasks and then publish all information.
The problem appears to be related to some setting or perhaps an application
conflict on the user machine. Can anyone offer any suggestions about how to
continue troubleshooting at this point?
