Error msg about ActiveX or OLE server, but database uses neither

When I open one of my forms, I get the following error message:

The LinkMasterFields property setting has produced this error: A problem
occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE Server or
ActiveX control

I am using Access 2000 and Windows XP. My form does have several subforms,
it worked in the past, and there are no OLE objects or ActiveX controls in
it.

Any help would be appreciated.
