Error Msg: Cant find DATA1.MSI file

Mike

When I try to update MS Office 2000 Profissional using
(SP3) update I get a message to load my CD, which I did
and it can't find DATA1.MSI file.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do or where to find it?
Do I need to do a previous update using (SP1) or (SP2)
before updating to (SP3)?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi, Mike,

Do you by any chance have MS Works Suite or another Office 2000 family
product listed in Add/Remove Programs in the
Windows Control Panel? If so, you may also need those CDs, which can
contain their own data1.msi files. Check the Windows Control Panel's
Add/Remove Programs applet to see what might be installed. Then either
uninstall those, if not needed, or supply them when prompted, to see which
is being requested.

Hi Susan (remember me?)

I have same problem with Security Patches (post Office 2K SP4) not working due to or lack of Office 2K Source CD (or network share location).

I do have Visio 2000 Source CD. Perchance, using that (an its "DATA1.MSI" .CAB whatever) for the Office Updates Web Site?

(probably by time you reply I will have tried it, I suppose couldn't hurt to try that. I long shot I bet, but hey...)

Cya,
Michael
