error msg on a drive (word document)

Buddie Massey

I am techno-illiterate -- so talk simply to me!!

When I try to access documents on a diskette I get this
message: "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)"

Any clue what that is? How do I get to my documents so I
don't have to rekey all this stuff!!

Thanks a bunch!!

It means that you should not be saving to or opening from a floppy, as this
is one of the quickest ways to corrupt your document. Always save to the HD
and copy to the floppy; reverse the process when opening: copy to the HD,
then open from there.
