error msg says 2 users trying to edit same record

No one can open one of my databases; the error msg says the database engine
has stopped because 2 users are trying to edit the same record, however, no
one is in the database. There is no .ldb file showing it is open. I am
using Access 2007

Hi CC,

Try opening it while holding down the shift key. If that works, try a
compact and repair.

Hi CC,

Can you link to the tables from another database? Maybe get the data
out and import in into a backup copy?

Another possibility may be one of the Office recovery programs such as
the one at http://www.officerecovery.com.

Also try this trick... sometimes it helps.

Create a copy of the database and rename it to the original name with an
additional character. Then try opening the database (if there is an .ldb file
active it will look for the original and the renamed version will create a
new .ldb file).

If it works rename the old one and rename the new renamed one back to the
old name and try opening that one.

So far nothing has worked--renaming or copying it gives the same error
message, and I can't import anything from it into another database.
