This has just started yesterday evening -- It's always worked fine in the
past (it worked fine in the morning too). Using MS Office 2000 Enterprise
Edition
When I try to create a pivot table based on a query (not a parameter query)
-- -- when it goes into Excel to allow me to design the layout, I get an
error message when I click on 'layout' -- "Problems Obtaining Data". This
happens now in all DB's. I can open existing pivot table forms, but when I
try to edit it to refresh the data in excel, I get the same error message.
I tried this with various DB's that have always worked in the past and I've
even tried creating one based on a table that I know is good -- still the
same error is displayed.
If I design the pivot table in Excel and then link it to the exact same
query as the original issue, then it works fine and allows me to refresh
normally.
The only system change I've made is to uninstall my Symantec Norton's
Internet Security 2007 version 1 (I actually had to uninstall all Symantec
Products -- using both add/remove and then the Symantec removal tools to
ensure all is gone) and reinstall an updated version of NIS 2007. I have not
reinstalled any other Symantec Products.
My guess is that the uninstall-reinstall broke some link in the Office
products, but I can't figure out what. I've searched both MS and the web for
anything similar, but have found nothing.
Can anyone suggest anything to help?
