Error msg

Working with Access 97 in Windows XP Pro. Data base has been working fine.
Now I get an error msg when trying to open the db. "Function isn't
available in expressions in query expression 'Format("mmm",[Date])' ".
Tried the same db on another computer and worked fine. Reinstalled Access
but still get the same msg. Also have Office XP on the computer but in a
different folder.

Appreciate any ideas on what has changed to cause this error msg.

I found this same answer over and over in a GOOGLE
search. I don't know if it'll help. You may want to try
a google search youself. Type in the error, click on
groups, and click search. There's tons of links.

You probably have a missing reference in the db which is
causing the error.
Open a module, and then go to tools, references. If you
see anything there
which says "missing" then uncheck it and your problems
will likely be
solved.

Kevin , had no missing references. Thanks anyway

Marty, Didn't realize that this was such a common problem. Google came up
with numerous suggestions and by copying the db over, it cured the problem.
Thanks
